JACOB L. RATZAN is a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law and past Chapter Chair of the South Florida Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Mr. Ratzan earned a Bachelor degree in International Relations from Tufts University in 1997 and a Juris Doctorate from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2005. In 2006, Mr. Ratzan was admitted to the Florida and New York Bars. In 2007, Mr. Ratzan was admitted to the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.
Mr. Ratzan has been a frequent lecturer and moderator at immigration law conferences, including:
- AILA National Conference (speaker) (2015)
- AILA South Florida CLE conferences (speaker and moderator) (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016)
- AILA South Florida luncheon CLE seminars (speaker and moderator) (2011-2016)
- Immigration 101: And Introduction to Immigration Law (speaker) (2016)
Mr. Ratzan has also authored and published multiple articles on immigration law. Mr. Ratzan's practice primarily consists of employment-based and family-based immigration.
Mr. Ratzan is fluent in Spanish, having lived in Spain and Chile.
